If you are accessing the multiple versions of QuickBooks Desktop on the same computer, go through the below listed steps for every version:

  • Either click on the Windows button tab on your screen or you can hold the Windows key on your keyboard.
  • Type “Windows Firewall” into the search bar and click to open Windows Firewall.
  • Choose Advanced Settings.
  • Right-click on Inbound Rules. Then choose New Rule.
  • Click on Port and then choose Next.
  • You must verify whether TCP is opted or not
  • Type the port number, click on Next
  • Click on Allow the Connection, and then Hit next
  • Generate a rule.
  • Name it as QBPorts(year)
  • Once you have created the rule, click on Finish

Same procedure will be followed for outbound rules, so get along with these listed methods to add firewall port exception

  • Choose Program and then hit Next.
  • Click on This Program Path and then choose Browse.
  • Search for the specified files and click on one of the executable files
  • Then choose Next.
  • Click on Allow the Connection and then hit Next.
  • If the message is displayed, make sure all profiles are marked.
  • Click on Next.
  • Generate a rule.
  • Assign a name like “QB Firewall Exception (name.exe).”
