Method 1: Find the duplicate names
- Use the QBWin.log file to find the duplicates.
- Search for QBWin.log or QuickBooks.log files.
- Hold Ctrl + End to move to the bottom of the company file.
- Hold Ctrl + F to search for the Find window and search for the word “duplicate” in the log file.
- Search for the name, account, customer message and many more which is shown in the error message.

- Use the Master Name List to search for duplicate names.
- In the Banking menu, click on Write Checks.
- Choose to Pay to the Order of field and hold Ctrl + L so that the Master Name List can be opened

- Choose the Name leading to sort the name in alphabetic order, regardless of type.

Method 2: Edit one of the duplicate names
- Modify one of the names:
- Open the specified list where the name is available.
- Double-click on the name in the list to which you want to edit
- Modify at least a single alphabet to make it different from rest of the name available in company file.
- Choose OK.

- Run the Verify Data Utility tool to make sure that there should be no more availability of duplicate names.
