Method 1: Find the duplicate names

  • Use the QBWin.log file to find the duplicates.

    • Hold Ctrl + F to search for the Find window and search for the word “duplicate” in the log file.
    • Search for the name, account, customer message and many more which is shown in the error message.

  • Use the Master Name List to search for duplicate names.
    • In the Banking menu, click on Write Checks.
    • Choose to Pay to the Order of field and hold Ctrl + L so that the Master Name List can be opened
    • Choose the Include inactive checkbox to get active and inactive names.
    • Choose the Name leading to sort the name in alphabetic order, regardless of type.
    • Search for names which have similar names
