Kindly follow the steps if you received Quickbooks error 6000-83 while creating backup of company file:-
- Go to File menu and click Quit QuickBooks desktop.
- Open the Start button and type >> File Explorer.
- Select PC >> C: drive.
- Create a New Folder and name it as QuickBooks Test Folder.
I was restoring my company file
- Go to File menu and click Quit QuickBooks desktop.
- Open the Start button and type >> File Explorer.
- Right click the file with .qbb extension and select Rename.
- Create a New Folder and name it as QuickBooks Test Folder.
I keep my company file on a Windows server
- Use QuickBooks File Doctor to scan your company file.
- If you have a backup of your company file use it to restore the data from your company file.
- Edit your windows host file.
I keep my company file on a Linux server
- Configure your linux server.
- Configure your host file.
- Go to File menu and click Quit QuickBooks desktop.
- Open the Start button and type >> File Explorer.
- Select PC >> C: drive.
- Find System32 Folder. Open driver folder and then ETC folder.
- Right click the file called C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts. Select Open with and then Notepad.
- Go to the bottom of the file. Add the Linux server IP address to the end of the text. Then press the Tab key and add your Linux server name.
- Select File and then Save. Then close Notepad.
Open QuickBooks Desktop and your company file. If you can, everything is fixed. If you still see Error -6000,-83, reach out to our support team so we can help.
