Option 2: You can refund the customer for the overpayment in QuickBooks Desktop

In case, if your customer overpaid you on accident, then you can give them a refund.

Option 3: You can record the overpayment as a tip in in QuickBooks Desktop

In case, if your customer paid more than their total on purpose, you can record it as a tip.
