{"id":864,"date":"2019-11-25T11:03:21","date_gmt":"2019-11-25T11:03:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.quickbooksupport.net\/blog\/?p=864"},"modified":"2020-01-22T10:54:05","modified_gmt":"2020-01-22T10:54:05","slug":"call-to-know-extent-usage-limits-in-quickbooks-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.quickbooksupport.net\/blog\/2019\/11\/25\/call-to-know-extent-usage-limits-in-quickbooks-online\/","title":{"rendered":"Know Extent Usage Limits in QuickBooks Online!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Learn about usage limits and your best options, if you reach one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In early 2019, usage limits were added to QuickBooks Online plans in the U.S. These affect how many users, classes and locations, and chart of accounts elements you can have.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For the first six months after we introduced these changes, you were able to stay in your current plan even if you were over those limits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Starting in October 2019, QuickBooks Online will no longer support accounts that exceed their plan\u2019s usage limits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What do I need to do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Important:<\/strong>\u00a0Action should be taken before October 28 to make sure that you can access your account.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Firstly, sign in to your account to see if you&#8217;re over a limit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>In QuickBooks Online:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Go to the\u00a0<strong>Settings\u00a0<\/strong>\u2699 icon and select\u00a0<strong>Account and Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Usage<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>In QuickBooks Online Accountant:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Go to the\u00a0<strong>Settings\u00a0<\/strong>\u2699 icon and select\u00a0<strong>Usage Details<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>See status\u00a0<\/strong>to see if your client is exceeding usage limits.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To avoid any disturbance,\u00a0reduce your usage, or\u00a0upgrade to QuickBooks Online Advanced.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Accounts that are over a limit may be suspended on your next renewal date, starting Monday, October 28,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For example, if you use 251 chart of accounts and use QuickBooks Online Plus \u00a0you&#8217;ll need to upgrade to Advanced to match your usage needs or reduce your data to within the limits for Plus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Important facts:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>If you have any changes in your plan contact your accountant, if you subscribe through them.<\/li>\n<li>If case you have multiple companies, you\u2019ll have to check the usage for each company.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What are my plan\u2019s usage limits?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">QuickBooks Online has usage limits. Usage limits depend on your plan. This will manifest a list of all the items that counts toward the limit:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Select either\u00a0<strong>Chart of Accounts<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Classes<\/strong>, or\u00a0<strong>Locations<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Beside the Filter by name field, select the\u00a0<strong>drop-down<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Choose\u00a0<strong>Counts toward limits<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Limit indicator banner<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you\u2019re in the Chart of Accounts, Classes, or Locations page, an indicator banner at the top of the page will tell you if you\u2019re below limit or exceeded your limit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Usage Limits dashboard<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Your usage limits dashboard will help you know how many items you have for each usage limit. To open the dashboard:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Sign in to QuickBooks Online and select the\u00a0<strong>Settings<\/strong>\u2699 icon.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Account and Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the\u00a0<strong>Usage<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Important:<\/strong>\u00a0If the usage tab is not visible to you, contact the admin user.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What happens with my suspended account?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To reactivate your account after it\u2019s been suspended, you\u2019ll need to\u00a0call us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>For the time period that your account is suspended:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Your QuickBooks data and transactions will be visible to you for a year. But you won&#8217;t be able to add new transactions or change anything.<\/li>\n<li>You can\u2019t reduce your usage.<\/li>\n<li>You can\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/quickbooks.intuit.com\/learn-support\/en-us\/cancel-standard-subscription\/what-happens-to-my-quickbooks-online-data-after-i-cancel\/00\/185985\">export data<\/a>to Excel or a desktop version of QuickBooks.<\/li>\n<li>If you signed up for QuickBooks Online Payroll through your QuickBooks subscription, your Payroll subscription will also be suspended.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>How to upgrade?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you want information about upgrading, you can look for QuickBooks Advanced\u00a0features and pricing. Class tracking states a different class for each particular line of a transaction. You can assign a location to entire transaction with the help of Location tracking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Chart of accounts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The chart of accounts forms the backbone of accounting software. All types of assets, liabilities, income, and expenses are written down here in an account or sub-account.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chart of Accounts, Classes and Locations are counted towards limits when they are:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Added in your QuickBooks Online account by you or someone with permissions.<\/li>\n<li>Generated by a third-party application, you or someone with permissions has connected to your QuickBooks Online account* (these apps are allowed to add above the usage limits).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>They do not count towards limits when they are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Created by QuickBooks Online at sign up or from usage of services such as:\n<ul>\n<li>Sales tax<\/li>\n<li>Shipping<\/li>\n<li>Multi-Currency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Produced by QuickBooks Services that you or someone with permissions has connected to your QuickBooks Online account, such as:\n<ul>\n<li>Intuit Payroll<\/li>\n<li>QuickBooks Online Payroll<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Imported into QuickBooks Online from QuickBooks Desktop<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Third-party apps have access to continue to add to your chart of accounts that excess the usage limit.
