It can be seen that it launches with a blank screen or certain buttons are missing, either the fonts and icons are in unusual size or the screen is distorted. How do we resolve this situation then?<\/p>\n<p>There are certain steps which can be performed to fix this. Majorly we take care of screen resolution and DPI settings.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Make changes in Windows DPI settings:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>QuickBooks usually works with default Windows DPI. If your settings are anything other than the default then you will come across distorted or blank screen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In windows 7:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1) Right click on Desktop.<\/p>\n<p>2) Scroll down to Screen Resolution.<\/p>\n<p>3) You will see a screen \u201cChange the appearance of your display\u201d<\/p>\n<p>4) Once you check in the bottom of that window, you will see an option \u201cMake text and other items larger or smaller.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>5) Choose Smaller &#8211; 100% (default) if it not already chosen.<\/p>\n<p>6) Click on Apply.<\/p>\n<p>7) Restart the machine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Windows 8\/8.1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1) On the same screen \u201cChange the appearance of your display\u201d at the option \u201cMake text and other items larger or smaller.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>2) Uncheck the box for \u201cLet me choose one scaling level for all my displays\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>3) Set the slider at Smaller &#8211; 100% (default) if it not already chosen.<\/p>\n<p>4) Click on Apply.<\/p>\n<p>5) Restart the machine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Windows 10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1) Launch Control panel.<\/p>\n<p>2) Choose \u201cAppearance and Personalization\u201d<\/p>\n<p>3) Click on Display.<\/p>\n<p>4) Now \u201cSet a custom scaling level\u201d under \u201cChange size of items\u201d section.<\/p>\n<p>5) Choose 100% from drop-down and hit OK.<\/p>\n<p>6) Click on Apply.<\/p>\n<p>7) Restart the machine.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Make changes in screen resolution:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Most Important: 1920 x 1080 is highly recommended.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Windows 7\/8\/8.1<\/p>\n<p>1. Right click on desktop.<\/p>\n<p>2. Go to Screen Resolution.<\/p>\n<p>3. This opens a screen \u201cChange the appearance of your display\u201d<\/p>\n<p>4.Go to Resolution.<\/p>\n<p>5. Set to 1024 x 768 or more than that.<\/p>\n<p>6. Click on Apply.<\/p>\n<p>7. Choose to keep changes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Windows 10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Right click on desktop.<\/p>\n<p>2. Go to Display settings<\/p>\n<p>3. On the left panel select Display.<\/p>\n<p>4. Click on Advanced display settings.<\/p>\n<p>5. Go to Resolution.<\/p>\n<p>6. Set to 1024 x 768 or more than that.<\/p>\n<p>7. Click on Apply.<\/p>\n<p>8. Choose to keep changes.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Make changes in QuickBooks DPI settings:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1. Right click on QuickBooks desktop icon.<\/p>\n<p>2. Go to Properties of the QuickBooks desktop icon.<\/p>\n<p>3. Scroll to compatibility tab.<\/p>\n<p>4. Choose display scaling on high DPI settings.<\/p>\n<p>5.Click on Apply and the hit OK.<\/p>\n<p>6. Re-launch QuickBooks to check if everything was fine.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Make changes in desktop view preferences:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1. Launch the company file.<\/p>\n<p>2. Go to Edit<\/p>\n<p>3. Then Preferences -&gt; Desktop View -&gt; My Preferences<\/p>\n<p>4.
