Learn to set up a Card Reader for QuickBooks Go Payments in QuickBooks Desktop with QuickBooks Support USA

Once you try to read a card reader by ordering, you must follow these steps to set up everything for which you can start to track the payments.

Step 1: Set up your card reader

Plug in the device to your Bluetooth reader to charge the battery. Use the USB cable that you usually receive with your reader. When it is charged, connect it with the GoPayment app.

Go through these steps based on the Go Payment app you have:

If you are using the green GoPayment app

  • Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device.
  • Continue pressing and hold the button on the side of your card reader until it displays green. This will turn on your reader.
  • Open the GoPayment app.
  • Click on More and then choose Hardware.
  • Click on Card Readers from the list.
  • In the Type section, choose Bluetooth.
  • You must check that the card reader is on. Then click on Add a new reader to start connecting.
  • Click on the name of the card reader to connect with it.

Once you are all set.

When are now ready to continue with the payment, click on Plus (+) and then choose New Payment to take a payment.

If you are using the blue GoPayment app

  • Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device.
  • Continue holding the button on the side of your card reader until it shows green color. This turns on your card reader.
  • Open the GoPayment app.
  • Hit for Menu tab. Click on Settings and then choose Card Reader.
  • In the Type section, click on Bluetooth.
  • You must check for the notification for the card reader which should be turned on. Then click on Add a new reader to start connecting.
  • Choose the name of the card reader in the My Card Readers section to connect it.

Now, when you’re ready to process a payment,

Click on Plus (+) and choose New Payment to take a payment.
