    • In the Windows Start menu
    • Enter “ File Explorer” in search bar

  • Rename the QBPOS Shell folder
    • Search for C:\Users\{User logged on}\AppData\Local\Intuit.
    • Look for the folder(QBPOSshell.exe) which is been latest modified
    • Double click on user.config file
    • Click on Rename
    • Rename your file user.configold
    • Close the QuickBooks, reopen QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale

Method 2: Create a new Windows admin

  • Create a local user account
    • Either press Windows key from keyboard or you can click on Start programs on your PC
    • Click on Settings
    • Click on Accounts, then choose Family and Other Users
    • Click on Add someone to this PC
    • Click on I don’t have this person’s sign in info
    • Click on Add a user without a user account
    • Type a username and password
    • Click on Next
  • Modify user account to admin
    • Either press Windows key from keyboard or you can click on Start programs on your PC
    • Click on Settings
    • Click on Accounts, then choose Family and Other Users
    • Choose the username you created earlier, then click on Change Account Type
    • In Account type tab, click on Administrator and then click on OK
    • Now, sign in to the account as admin
