You might think that your QuickBooks Online subscription is not as per your need at the moment. Either the plan seems to be expensive or the features it has are not needed by you.

But there are certain points that you need to remember before you downgrade the plan. You will also have to evaluate the various options you will lose if you leave your current plan and downgrade to a lower plan.

Once you choose another QuickBooks plan make sure the new subscription has all the features that you require. Later if you decide to return to your previous plan then you may upgrade at any moment.

There will be certain features in your current QuickBooks Online which uses a third party app and when you change your plan these associated third party applications might also get affected. Those apps are affected which are not supported by the features of the new plan. Though some of these applications can be used directly from their site but the information and transactions that are fetched automatically or filled by QuickBooks automatically will need to be entered manually as there will be sync issues. Some of these applications which you are using might also cause barriers in downgrading as the new plan does not support them.

You may use the My Apps tabs in QuickBooks to see the apps that were in use.

When you are downgrading your plan you will also get deprived of the offers and all the discounts will be removed which you were availing on your current plan.

Regarding inventories the information is, that only QuickBooks Online Plus plan allows us to track inventory. Make sure that you first make your inventory items inactive if you want to toggle between the plans in QuickBooks.

Keep an alternative ready to maintain record of your scheduled transactions if you are planning to switch to QuickBooks Online EasyStart plan. It does not allow recurring transactions hence switch off your recurring transaction templates before you switch to QuickBooks Online EasyStart plan.

It does not allow multi-currency feature as well. So if want to EasyStart plan then you are suggested to switch off your multi-currency feature if you have it in your current plan.

Now that we know so much let us see the steps to downgrade the subscription plan:

› Use the admin credentials to sign in to QuickBooks Online.

› In there, scroll and go to Settings.

› Then you navigate to Account and Settings.

› Further go ahead with opting for Billing & Subscription from the menu.

› Please note that your payment info is valid and properly updated.

› Now click on Downgrade.

› This will take you to “Change my plan” page where you will see your current plan and the other available plans.

* In case you do not see downgrade option then contact QuickBooks technical support.

› Look for the new plan you are sure about then click on Choose Plan.

› You will be able to see all the features that you will lose and still if you are sure about downgrading then click on Next.

› Now it will display new billing details and will give you the option to click on Change Plan to complete.

› Finally, log out of QuickBooks Online.

We have changed your subscription plan now we will see how can we check if the plan is changed or not.

Normally the change of subscription plan is in effect instantaneously but to be confirmed let us be sure of the same.

Here you can check your current plan and its details.
